Whether you received your Air Plant as a gift from a loved one or bought it for yourself, it is important to know how to care for your plant. Air Plants get water and nutrients from the air and do not need soil to grow. They are easy to care for, but require a different kind of care than other indoor potted plants.

Air Plant Lighting Care Tips
Air Plants need bright indirect light to thrive. Try to avoid placing your Air Plant in direct sunlight as their fine leaves may burn and dry out. If you want to place your Air Plant on a windowsill, make sure it receives filtered light or gentle morning sun only.
On the other hand, Air Plants will not do well in low light. It is best to place your Air Plants in a bright room or area with indirect sunlight.
Air Plant Watering Care Tips
Depending on the climate, it is a good idea to adjust your watering methods. We recommend watering your Air Plant about once a week by placing them in a sink, bowl or small jar with enough water to completely submerge your air plant. Soak the air plant in the water for 30-60 minutes.
If you are in a drier climate, give them a longer soak for about an hour or more every other week. Keep an eye on your air plant and if it is struggling, try soaking for several hours or overnight to see if you can re-hydrate your plant.
After soaking your Air Plant, give them a gentle shake and place them upside down on a towel or a rack to let them drain and dry out. Once the plant is completely dry usually within 4 to 5 hours, place them back in their container.
In between waterings, you can also mist your Air Plant to keep them fresh and healthy especially if you live in a drier climate or during the winter when humidity is lower in homes. Spray from all angles fully wetting all sides and parts of the plants. Misting is not a substitute for soaking. Soaking is a must for your Air Plant.
SIGNS OF UNDER OR OVER WATERING YOUR AIR PLANT
If over watering occurs or if the plant did not dry out completely, the body of your Air Plant will turn soft and become rotten and discoloured. The leaves may also start to come off from the center of the plant. If you under water your Air Plant, the leaves may turn brittle, curl and get brown dry tips.
Air Plant Temperature Care Tips
Warm temperatures are best for Air Plants. The ideal temperature range for Air Plants is 55 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit or 10 to 30 degrees Celsius. Temperatures under 45 degrees Fahrenheit or 7 degrees Celsius, will cause Air Plants to freeze and not survive.
